On the afternoon of September 16, Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Council, together with leaders of several departments, agencies and units, conducted an on-site survey and inspection of infrastructure and service quality at Hai Phong and Thuong Ly Stations in preparation for transporting officials, public employees and workers from western Hai Phong to eastern Hai Phong by train, beginning September 22, 2025.
Under the expected plan, more than 300 officials, public employees and workers will travel daily by train from western Hai Phong to eastern Hai Phong for work, starting Monday, September 22, 2025. In the morning, the train will depart Hai Duong Station at 6:00; in the afternoon, it will depart Hai Phong Station at 17:15, with a journey of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The city will also arrange shuttle buses and taxis to transport staff from the stations to their workplaces and back.
After the on-site inspection and hearing the reports, Le Van Hieu emphasised that the relevant departments, agencies and units must urgently prepare all necessary conditions to meet the daily commuting needs of officials, public employees and workers travelling from western to eastern Hai Phong. This includes upgrading and renovating the parking facilities at Hai Duong Station; adding essential supplies and services to meet the needs of passengers on the train; and taking measures to ensure security and safety for passengers as well as travelling officials, public employees and workers.
The launch of a train service to transport officials and public employees from western Hai Phong to eastern Hai Phong for their daily work demonstrates the city leadership’s care and understanding of the difficulties faced by staff who must work far from home. It provides timely encouragement and support, helping everyone work and perform their duties with peace of mind.
