City Party Committee Secretary Le Tien Chau highlights Hai Phong’s existing and distinctive advantages.

On the morning of December 2 in Prague, Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong City National Assembly Delegation, and the delegation visited and worked with the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Zdenek Zajicek, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, warmly received the delegation.

Speaking at the meeting, City Party Committee Secretary Le Tien Chau stressed that Hai Phong attaches particular importance to the meeting, considering it a major opportunity to connect the business communities of the two sides.

Hai Phong values the role of the Vietnamese Committee under the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry in helping Czech businesses seek opportunities in Vietnam, providing market advice, connecting cooperation and accompanying bilateral promotion delegations.

Referring to the elevation of relations to a strategic partnership in January 2025 between the governments of Vietnam and the Czech Republic, the City Party Committee Secretary affirmed that this represented a new level in bilateral cooperation and opened a favourable framework for strengthening cooperation across the political, economic and people-to-people pillars.

Hai Phong shares many similarities with industrial and seaport centres in Europe as well as strong industrial cities in the Czech Republic. Its existing and distinctive advantages can become assets for Czech businesses to expand their supply chains and connect directly with markets outside Europe.

Hai Phong and Czech businesses have many new opportunities for cooperation, especially in Czech strengths such as manufacturing, precision engineering, environmental technology, energy and high-tech industries. The two sides can cooperate in energy, green transformation and energy efficiency. These are priority areas for both sides and can readily generate specific cooperation projects.

The City Party Committee Secretary pledged that the city is ready to provide industrial premises, synchronised technical infrastructure and favourable support mechanisms to accompany Czech businesses.

Hai Phong wishes to work closely with the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organise business forums, investment and trade promotion programmes, market survey delegations and business-matching meetings; expand cooperation in human-resource training, vocational education and expert exchanges; and make maximum use of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic as an important economic and cultural bridge between the two countries.

Zdenek Zajicek, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highly appreciated the city’s cooperation initiatives. He said that Hai Phong’s potential and the dynamism of the Czech business community, with the Vietnamese Committee’s role in promoting them, would provide a basis for Hai Phong–Czech cooperation to develop more strongly, substantively and effectively, helping deepen the Vietnam–Czech strategic partnership.
