On the afternoon of 21 July 2025, Comrade Le Trung Kien, Member of the City Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, directly inspected flood and storm preparedness in several key areas of Kien Hung Commune, Tien Lang District. He was accompanied by representatives of city departments and sectors and local authorities.

During the field inspection, the delegation surveyed vulnerable locations including Co Tieu Sluice, Kim Son Embankment and Mom Hau Sluice—sites at serious risk when Storm No. 3 makes landfall.

After the inspection, Comrade Le Trung Kien recognised Kien Hung authorities’ proactive and urgent implementation of disaster-prevention plans. In particular, the locality focused on reinforcing dykes, ensuring the safety of its irrigation system and fully preparing personnel and equipment according to the “four on-the-spot” principle.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board requires Kien Hung Commune to devote 100% of its resources to storm prevention.
The Head required Kien Hung Commune to continue reviewing and carefully assessing vulnerable areas, promptly identify and completely address safety risks, and avoid being passive if a bad situation occurs. It must also maintain a strict 24-hour duty regime while the storm makes landfall and ensure forces are ready to respond promptly and effectively.
He stressed that there must be no complacency or negligence in any situation and that losses of life and property caused by storms and floods must be prevented. The locality should mobilise maximum resources and ensure close coordination between functional forces and residents in disaster prevention.
Kien Hung is a riverside commune with many important irrigation works that protect production infrastructure and people’s lives. Therefore, the Head required local authorities to strengthen close supervision and implement storm-prevention plans decisively and effectively, ensuring the absolute safety of residents, property and key works while maintaining stable production in the area.
