On the afternoon of 24 July, Comrade Tran Hong Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Construction and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for key works and nationally important railway projects, led a working delegation to inspect and direct the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway project.
The working session was also attended by Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Le Anh Quan, City Party Committee Standing Committee member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, sectors, units and localities.
At the session, the delegation heard functional units report on project progress, focusing on site clearance and preparation of resettlement areas for commencing project components in the city on 19 August and 19 December 2025.
After hearing the reports, Minister Tran Hong Minh asked the consulting unit to urgently determine the route alignment and markers so local authorities could identify the site-clearance areas precisely. He said Hai Phong should listen carefully to residents and understand their legitimate concerns and aspirations; where possible, priority should be given to on-site resettlement to minimise disruption to people’s lives. The Minister stressed that implementation must ensure open and transparent policies and effective communication and mobilisation to build public consensus and speed up site handover. Units and localities must coordinate closely, proactively resolve difficulties and focus fully on implementing the project and completing it on schedule.
The Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway is a nationally important project of special significance for interregional connectivity, socio-economic development and stronger freight and passenger transport capacity. It will contribute to the goal of developing a modern and synchronised transport infrastructure system./.
