14th National Party Congress closes: Comrade To Lam elected General Secretary

On the afternoon of January 23, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, the 14th National Party Congress held its closing session and completed its program with particularly important contents.

At the closing session, delegates heard the announcement of the election results for the Politburo, General Secretary, Secretariat, Central Inspection Commission and Chairperson of the Central Inspection Commission for the 14th term.

After the 14th Party Central Committee was introduced, the General Secretary spoke to the Congress on behalf of the Central Committee. The Congress also heard the report on voting results for the documents and officially adopted the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

Earlier that morning, the 14th Party Central Committee held its first plenum to elect key leadership positions.

Notably, among the 180 official members elected for the 14th term, Hai Phong has two key leaders:

Comrade Le Tien Chau: Party Central Committee Member, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation.
Comrade Le Ngoc Chau: Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee.
