On the afternoon of June 2, 2026, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority welcomed and worked with a delegation from the Honghe Bonded Zone Authority under the Mengzi Economic Development Zone (China). The visit took place within the framework of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on trade, investment, industry and sectoral linkages signed by the two sides in August 2025.
Participants included Mr. Nguyen Danh Tu, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, together with representatives of its divisions and affiliated units; Mr. Jiang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Honghe Bonded Zone Authority, who led the delegation; and representatives of the economic development authorities, investment promotion authority and professional officers.
Before the plenary session, the delegation conducted a field survey at Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port (TC-HICT) and Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park. At TC-HICT, the delegation learned about the scale, operating capacity and modern logistics system of the Lach Huyen port cluster, one of the largest deep-water port clusters in the northern region. At Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, the delegation studied the park’s development model, investment attraction and technical infrastructure, gaining a practical view of the potential and advantages of Hai Phong’s industrial park system.
At the session, representatives of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority introduced the city’s investment environment, potential and cooperation opportunities; its system of 45 industrial parks, economic zones and free trade zones. The two sides exchanged practical experience in managing and developing bonded zones, free trade zones, industrial parks and economic zones, and discussed cooperation orientations for the coming period.
The working session took place in a friendly and frank atmosphere, helping strengthen cooperation between the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority and the Honghe Bonded Zone Authority and opening up practical prospects for investment promotion, trade connectivity and the sharing of economic zone management experience between the two localities.
