On the morning of May 6, 2025, at the ceremony announcing the 2024 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Hai Phong was honored to receive high praise from the business community and rank first among the 63 provinces and cities nationwide for the quality of its economic governance. This is clear evidence of the city’s persistent efforts to improve the investment and business environment and accompany enterprises.
Immediately after the event, Le Tien Chau – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Head of the city’s National Assembly delegation – sent a letter on behalf of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong to express deep gratitude to the business community and entrepreneurs inside and outside the city.
In the letter, the Party Committee Secretary affirmed that the impressive result in the 2024 PCI ranking was the outcome of the close relationship, partnership and sharing between the city administration and the business community. With solidarity, creativity and determination to overcome difficulties, enterprises joined Hai Phong in improving its competitiveness, strongly attracting investment, creating more jobs and making major contributions to local socio-economic development.
Le Tien Chau emphasized that Hai Phong is undergoing strong transformation, aiming to build a modern industrial economy and become an international gateway as well as a leading logistics and industrial center in Asia. To achieve this goal, the city is committed to continuing to renew its growth model, improve the investment and business environment and place enterprises at the center of its development strategy. The city administration will take decisive action, create a favorable environment and provide more effective services, ensuring sustainable enterprise development and people’s welfare.
The thank-you letter also expressed the determination of Hai Phong leaders to realize the motto: “Constructive government – Decisive action – Dare to lead, dare to take responsibility.” With the unity of the business community and residents, Hai Phong will continue to rise, become a leading growth pole and make important contributions to the development of the region and the country.
