Hai Phong and Yen Bai strengthen cooperation in human resource training to meet enterprises’ labor supply needs

Hai Phong, June 7, 2025 – The Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board held a working session with a delegation from Yen Bai Province to discuss and promote cooperation in vocational training and the provision of human resources for industrial parks and economic zones in the city. Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Head of the Board, chaired the reception, together with representatives of several departments, sectors and businesses. The delegation was led by Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Yen Bai Provincial People’s Committee.

The working session continued the cooperation program held in Yen Bai on May 30. The two sides agreed to implement key activities such as promoting links between businesses and vocational education institutions; strengthening student streaming based on practical needs and aligning training with the labor market; and implementing policies supporting free vocational training and preferential rent-to-own social housing for workers who remain in Hai Phong long term.

Speaking at the reception, Le Trung Kien assessed this as a strategic turning point in linking training to labor market needs, creating an effective bridge between educational institutions and businesses, and contributing to the sustainable development of regional human resources.

Previously, Yen Bai had proactively improved the quality of vocational training and cooperated with leading enterprises such as LG, Heesung and Yazaki. Nearly 400 pupils and students had internships and were recruited by businesses; many were given the opportunity to attend “talent” classes sponsored by enterprises.

During the 2023–2025 school years, schools in Hai Phong organized nearly 3,000 online English lessons for students in highland areas (Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai and Nghia Lo), providing support in teachers and equipment such as televisions, computers, cameras, uniforms and books.
