Hai Phong to hold major investment promotion conference under ABAC III

Looking ahead to the 3rd meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III) in July, the Hai Phong City People’s Committee will coordinate with ABAC Vietnam to organize a range of activities to connect businesses, promote investment and introduce Vietnamese culture.

As part of the event, Hai Phong will organize an Investment Promotion Conference at the 3rd ABAC meeting. This is an important opportunity for Hai Phong not only to introduce investment opportunities but also to promote the development potential of the northern key economic region and connect local businesses with international partners. Around 700 delegates are expected to attend, including investment-promotion organizations, business associations and major investors from around the world. Le Trung Kien, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, said the conference would include important activities such as policy discussions among government agencies, diplomats and businesses; the signing of six memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in infrastructure and urban development; and, in particular, an investment certificate presentation ceremony for 23 major projects in Hai Phong.

Hai Phong’s Investment Promotion Conference will be held at the City Convention and Performance Center (the North Cam River urban area).

The ABAC III meeting in Hai Phong is one of the four important annual meetings of the ABAC Council in 2025. In addition to the main sessions, the conference will feature sideline activities such as the APEC Business Forum, a business networking program, a fair promoting distinctive products and field tours introducing the investment environment and development potential of the port city and the northern key economic region.

Total investment attracted at the conference is estimated at approximately USD 15 billion, including USD 11 billion for which investment certificates have been issued and USD 4 billion covered by memoranda of understanding. FDI is expected to exceed USD 1 billion, creating significant development opportunities for port infrastructure and industrial-park projects in Hai Phong.
