As part of the 2025 Con Son–Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, beginning October 4 the Hai Phong Museum is organizing the thematic exhibition “Con Son, Kiep Bac – The Journey to World Heritage” at the Kiep Bac Special National Relic Site.
Featuring more than 200 representative photographs, documents and artifacts, the exhibition vividly recreates the system of Con Son Pagoda, Kiep Bac Temple, Thanh Mai Pagoda, Kinh Chu Cave and Nham Duong Pagoda, together with values associated with the career and thought of Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong, the Truc Lam Zen sect and historical figures. The images and artifacts affirm the outstanding universal value of these relics throughout history.
The UNESCO nomination dossier for the Yen Tu–Vinh Nghiem–Con Son and Kiep Bac complex was assessed as one of Vietnam’s largest and most comprehensive scientific dossiers to date, comprising more than 2,139 pages of documents, 260 archaeological drawings, 196 architectural drawings and more than 1,100 documentary images. It is the result of 13 years of sustained cooperation among Quang Ninh, Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh) and Hai Duong (now Hai Phong), together with central agencies and domestic and international experts.
The thematic exhibition “Con Son, Kiep Bac – The Journey to World Heritage” helps local residents and domestic and international visitors better understand Hai Phong’s land and people, thereby raising awareness of conserving, preserving and spreading the cultural identity of Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general.
