First Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee: Comrade To Lam Re-elected General Secretary

The 14th Party Central Committee unanimously elected To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee, to continue serving as General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee.

On the morning of January 23, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the 14th Party Central Committee held its first plenum to decide particularly important matters, marking the beginning of the new term.

Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee and convener of the plenum, delivered the opening remarks and, on behalf of the Presidium, chaired the proceedings.

By strictly implementing the Party Charter, working regulations, election regulations and related contents, while promoting unity and responsibility and observing the principle of democratic centralism, the First Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee completed the following particularly important tasks:

  1. Electing the Politburo.
  2. Electing the General Secretary.
  3. Electing the Secretariat.
  4. Hearing a report on proposed key leadership positions of the Party and State and giving opinions on the personnel to serve as Permanent Member of the Secretariat.
  5. Electing the Central Inspection Commission.
  6. Electing the Chairperson of the Central Inspection Commission.

The 14th Party Central Committee unanimously elected To Lam to continue serving as General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee.
