Hai Phong Port City has all the elements to develop the logistics service industry and become the logistics center of the Northern region with all 5 modes of transport: sea, river, rail, road and cargo. does not have a convenient seaport system.

Among them, one of the leading and outstanding advantages is the seaport system, with 50 ports, accounting for 17,5% of Vietnam's ports, accounting for 73% of the seaports of the Red River Delta.

Berths 1 and 2 of the deep-water port at Lach Huyen have been put into operation and use since 2018, capable of receiving ships of more than 130.000 tons, bringing goods from Hai Phong straight to the continents.

The growth rate of logistics services in Hai Phong city reaches about 20-23%/year and the contribution to GRDP of the port city reaches 13-15%. The output of goods through the port has grown strongly, accounting for an increasingly large market share in the country's seaport system.

Along with that, seaport infrastructure is upgraded and invested in and built in a synchronous and modern manner, in accordance with regional and international shipping development trends; The traffic connection system is improved and more synchronized.

Currently, the entire city of Hai Phong has about 250 businesses operating in the field of logistics services, including about 30 multinational logistics companies and corporations such as DHL, UPS, FedEX.

In Hai Phong city, there are currently 14 industrial parks implementing infrastructure investment, construction, and business activities with a total area of over 6.131 hectares (9 industrial parks are located in the Dinh Vu-Cat Hai economic zone and 5 industrial parks are located outside the economic zone) ...

A number of industrial parks have been built according to logistics-based models, to increase logistics connectivity and interaction between actors in the supply chain. For example, Dinh Vu Industrial Park has a system of general ports and shared liquid cargo ports right in the industrial park; Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park is especially associated with the seaport system and logistics chain in Northern Vietnam.

In the next phase, Hai Phong will focus on building newly established Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones following the model of Industrial Parks based on logistics.

This helps create an abundant source of goods for logistics service businesses in the area; At the same time, increasing the efficiency of the goods supply chain for the entire Northeast region, as well as taking on the role of logistics gateway for the source of imported and exported goods by sea from Northern localities, which is forecast to continue to increase in the coming time. next time.
