Right in the early days of the country's innovation period, the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Hai Phong city identified comparative advantages, development trends of integration and openness, and affirmed attracting investment. Foreign direct investment is one of the important solutions to promote socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization of the city, so we have focused on directing construction planning and development. Developing export processing zones, industrial parks, and economic zones to form many clean premises, with favorable conditions and environment for production and business activities, creating a breakthrough in attracting investment.
Development history
From only managing 01 Export Processing Zone and 02 Industrial Parks, the Management Board is currently managing Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone and 19 industrial parks, including 04 joint venture industrial parks with foreign partners ( Nomura – Hai Phong, Do Son Hai Phong, Dinh Vu, Nam Dinh Vu (zone 2)), 03 100% foreign-owned industrial parks (An Duong, VSIP, Marine industry and services), 04 100% industrial parks % of domestic capital (Trang Due, Nam Cau Kien, Nam Dinh Vu (zone 1) and MP Dinh Vu).
In addition to industrial parks, the Management Board directly carries out centralized management and unifies investment, construction and development activities of Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone with a land area of 22.540 hectares and a population size of (expected to be 2025 people by 310.000). Dinh Vu - Cat Hai economic zone is planned to be built as a general economic zone; Multi-industry and multi-sector marine economic center, modern industrial, commercial and tourist city; In the Economic Zone, there are Non-Tariff Areas and Tariff Areas, in which the Tariff Area includes areas such as Industrial Park, Commercial Area, Urban Area, Amusement, Entertainment - Tourism Area, deep-water seaport international, port logistics service system (logistics) ...; becoming an outward and integration window of Vietnam and a driving force for development of Hai Phong and provinces in the Northern key economic region.
