There are times when Hai Phong's industrial development orientation temporarily takes a step back, giving priority to service development. But overall, over the past 66 years, since the liberation of Hai Phong, industry has remained the city's key economic sector. From urban to rural areas, there are factories, enterprises, and handicraft production facilities everywhere... As a rule, when industry really explodes, the city is forced to plan and lead. correct orientation. Hai Phong's industrial parks and industrial clusters were born right after the Party's wind of innovation and continuously developed, becoming a place for both "eagles" and "sparrows" to "nest", joining hands to bring success. In particular, since 2017, Vingroup decided to invest more than 3 billion USD to build the VinFast Automobile Factory in Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone, Hai Phong industry has a completely new position. Hai Phong became the birthplace of the first cars bearing Vietnamese brands, a great pride of the people of the Port. Since officially coming into operation in 2019, tens of thousands of cars bearing the proud V symbol manufactured in Hai Phong have spread to all parts of the country, with many competitive advantages over other brands. Foreign auto brands have hundreds of years of experience.
The breakthrough of Hai Phong's industry is shown through convincing numbers, especially in recent years. In the 5 years 2015-2020, Hai Phong truly affirmed its position as the industrial and commercial center of the whole region and the country. To date, Hai Phong has 12 industrial parks, of which 8 industrial parks are located in Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone with many special preferential policies and synchronous, modern and convenient infrastructure. and many industrial clusters scattered in both inner and outer cities have become a driving force to attract investment.
