Opening the conference, Mr. Le Trung Kien - Head of HAI PHONG ECONOMIC ZONE AUTHORITY, Hai Phong informed the delegation of the Korean Industrial Park Association: In the first quarter of 2022, projects from Korean investors ranked first. Leading in the number of FDI projects in the city and total investment capital (171 projects from Korea with a total investment of 9,6 billion USD). Up to now, industrial parks and economic zones in the city currently have 102 investment projects from Korea (accounting for 59,6% of the total Korean projects in Hai Phong), with a total investment capital of 8,5 billion USD, accounting for 43,7% of total FDI investment capital in all industrial parks and economic zones, accounting for 89% of total investment capital of Korean projects in Hai Phong (9,6 billion USD), accounting for 36,6% of total investment capital FDI throughout the city. Regarding revenue, in 2021, the total revenue of Korean-invested enterprises will reach 13,1 billion US dollars; Export turnover reached 13,59 billion US dollars.

Head of HAI PHONG ECONOMIC ZONE AUTHORITY, Hai Phong said that from now until 2025, Hai Phong city will expand 15 industrial parks with about 6200 hectares, the city's GRDP growth will always increase by 10% over the years; In particular, one of Hai Phong's important advantages is that the transportation infrastructure connecting industrial parks is being actively invested and completed to fully meet the needs of domestic and foreign investors. At the same time, Mr. Le Trung Kien emphasized that 2022 is a special year commemorating the 30th anniversary of Vietnam and Korea establishing diplomatic relations, so the HAI PHONG ECONOMIC ZONE AUTHORITY of Hai Phong in particular and the city in general will actively support and create favorable conditions for Korean businesses to continue to learn and invest further in Hai Phong.
